You almost always are braking real fast just to make the turn and pick up speed. The impossible handling with the turns and burnouts WILL ruin the experience for you. I really wanted to like this game, but besides from the occasional moment of pure racing bliss, this game is immensely frustrating. It didn't matter what car I had or what I did, it always seemed like I was burning out and it ruined races for me. All I have to say is don't waste your money on this game like I did. The turns are just so tight. And that's all I found myself doing.
I don't really have a lot of good to say about PGR except that it had it's moments, it just frustrated me because I was playing fine, but the game didn't seem to let up with it's problems. First thing I noticed right away was that the turns are way too hard. I soon felt PGR 4 was too much of an arcade racer, so I picked up Forza Motorsport 2 and am much happier with that. Another thing is the burnouts. You mess up once, one time is all it takes, and the race is over for you. Motorcycles were fun and the weather was kinda cool, though not that big a deal. There is much more fun to be had elsewhere.
pgr 4 is a game i rented to see how i liked it and was addicted after the first race. the graphics are killer, to top it all off you can ride a bike aswell, some of the fastest street bikes on earth. i love this game and will never give it up, unless they come out with a new one of course, online play is easy to do, the game is so realistic, the driving in the game is so realistic. the only minor draw back is extra content ie cars and extra tracks have to be purchased through microsoft, however the game has more than enough cars and tracks for you to race on. great game. i am hard to pleaase when it comes to games, if they suck i get rid of them fast.
Racing you way to number on in the world is a great challenge. PGR4 is the best in the series. It still has arcade mode, but they now but in chapters, making more interesting and replayble on harder difficulties.Career mode is new and much needed. And of course the best part of any PGR is the cars, is the best in the series, and now with motorcycles, its the best line up. Photo mode has the ability to make 3D photos.I would have like to see some in the game to teach and help you with and at lest a pair of 3D glasses but over all this is the best arcade racer in the library of 360 games.
After getting about half way through the career mode of PGR3, I thought it'd be fun to get a copy of PGR4 expecting that it would be a drastic improvement over the previous version. Other "classic" events (street race, one on one, overtake, etc). The most noticable addition is the option of motorcycles. But sadly, the career mode in PGR4 forces you to choose from a select few cars in each series rather than picking from your own collection. And even with this new feature, I still find myself picking cars so I don't hit the wall and fly off my motorcycle.Dispite these let downs, PGR4 is still a fun game and worth the money. More so, once you've decided on what car, you're stuck with it for the rest of the series, so there's no switching cars if you realize you've made a mistake. Also, when looking at a racing video game sequel, I'm expecting to see a better variety of races. I was wrong. One of the great things about the career mode in PGR3 is buying your cars and building up your garage with your favorite vehicles. are still around. The graphics are a clear step up and the addition of weather is another impressive feature.
PGR4 simply offers a variation on previous races. The speed camera has been updated to the total speed of multiple cameras, and the objective of the cone challenge is now to knock over as many cones as possible. It is interesting to play bikes against cars, but I can't understand why there weren't some events that were exclusively for bikes. But PGR3 fans shouldn't get too excited if they're looking for the best game in the series.
I've played a lot of racing games through the years, but this is my first time playing the PGR series. I've always slowed down on turns when necessary, but this game takes it to an extreme. My favorite series are Mario Kart and Burnout. This game plays very differently, with an emphasis on very tight, difficult turns. The races are won on your ability to handle sharp corners. The graphics are beautiful, and handling in snow feels like you're driving in snow. The weather aspect feels all too realistic.
